Twitchy’s Story

Cotton (Twitchy’s proper name) was only 3 pounds at approximately 6 months of age when we rescue him from a bad situation.

He was malnourished, dirty, and pathetic. It turned out that he was a “wobbly cat” with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a developmental condition in the brain that impacts fine motor skills, balance, and coordination.

He was literally “twitchy”, so the name stuck … and Twitchy became a favorite of a lot of people before he crossed “The Rainbow Bridge”.

In 2020, Twitchy crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and my husband created this painting to memorialize him. Over time, the painting generated a lot of interest and a growing following for his art business, David Reimer Art. It started with prints, then expanded to mugs and coasters, and eventually (of course) coffee, which we began selling at art events. As interest in Twitchy grew, we started to feel like “something special was happening.” By 2022, we began discussing how we could use Twitchy’s items and coffee to raise money for the rescues we’ve volunteered with for over 24 years—that’s when the “movement” truly began.

Thank you for joining the Twitchy Movement!
